ՅՈՒՂԱՐԿԱՒԱՐՈՒԹԻՒՆ՝
Բրշ. Մանուէլ Ա. Սրկ. Շէհրիեանի Շաբաթ 29 Յունուար 2022ին, Թորոնթոյի Ս. Աստուածածին Հայց. Առաքելական Եկեղեցւոյ ընտանիքը եւ հաւատացեալները հրաժեշտ տուին, Եկեղեցւոյս բազմավաստակ սպասաւորներէն՝ Բրշ. Մանուէլ Ա. Սրկ. Շէհիրեանին, որ իր կեանքի առաւել քան ութսուն տարիները ծառայեց եւ սպասարկեց Աստուծոյ եւ Ս. Խորանին: Յուղարկաւորութեան նախագահեց Գանատայի Հայոց Թեմի Առաջնորդ՝ Գերշ. Տ. Բաբգէն Ս. Արք. Չարեան, որ յատուկէն ժամանած էր Մոնթրեալէն, ներկայ գտնուելու եւ յարգելու յիշատակը Մանուէլ Սարկաւագին: Արարողութեան ներկայ էին նաեւ Թորոնթոյի եւ Գէմպրիճի հոգեւորականաց դասը, ինչպէս նաեւ Հայ Կաթողիկէ եկեղեցւոյ հովիւ Գերպ. Տ.Եղիա Ծ. Վրդ. Քիրէճեան եւ Ս. Երրորդութիւն Եկեղեցւոյ հովիւ եւ Առաջնորդական փոխանորդ Արժ. Տ. Զարեհ Ա. Քհնյ. Զարգարեան:
Արարողութեան ընթացքին յաջորդաբար խօսք առին, Լենա Օհաննէսեան Շէհիրեան ընտանիքի կողմէ, Բրշ. Սարգիս Սրկ. Կիտանեան Եկեղեցւոյ եւ Սարկաւագաց դասուն կողմէ, աւարտին դամբանական արտասանեց Առաջնորդ Սրբազան Հայրը, վեր առնելով հանգուցեալին ութսունամեայ ծառայութիւնը, որ սկիզբ առած էր Հալէպի Ս. Քառասնից Մ. Եկեղեցիէն, կիրակնօրեայ դպրոցներու ջերմ յարկէն ապա Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիոյ Կաթողոկոսութեան Դպրեվանքէն, մինչեւ Թորոնթօ, շարունակելով իր ծառայութիւնը եւ բարերարութիւնը բոլոր դաստիարակչական եւ բարեսիրական ծրագիրներուն:Ազգին գնահատանքին արժանանալով ,պարգեւատրուած է, Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիոյ Կաթողիկոսութեան «Մեսրոպ Մաշտոց» եւ Գանատայի Առաջնորդարանի, «Յովնան Մանդակունի»Շքանշաններով: Ս.Աստուածածին Եկեղեցւոյ Հովիւները, Հոգաբարձութիւնը, Սարկաւագաց դասը եւ եկեղեցւոյ ծառայութեան կոչուած մարմինները իրենց յարգանքը կը մատուցեն, բազմավաստակ Բրշ. Մանուէլ Ա. Սրկ. Շէհիրեանի ծառայութեան եւ յիշատակին: Հանգուցեալին փափաքին ընդառաջելով, թաղումը կատարուցաւ Սարկաւագական շապիկով, որ այնքան կը սիրէր եւ ուրախութեամբ կը հագնէր:

FUNERAL OF THE LATE ARCHDEACON MANUEL SHEHIRIAN
On Saturday, January 31st, 2022, the funeral of Archdeacon Manuel Shehirian, the first deacon, first choir-master, as well as the founding-board member of St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church was held. Archdeacon Shehirian served the Holy Altar for more than 80 years across Ontario, Lebanon, and Syria.
Before the Church service, the Ranks of Deacons led a procession into the church alongside Archpriest Rev. Fr. Datev Mikayelian and conducted the traditional Wake Service. The funeral was presided by His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada. Also present was Right Rev. Fr. Keghart Kosbakian, Sourp Nishan Armenian Apostolic Church of Cambridge, Right Rev. Fr. Yeghia Kiredjian, St. Gregory Armenian Catholic Church of Toronto, Right Rev. Fr. Vartan Tashjian, Very Rev. Fr. Hagop Yacoubian, Archpriest Rev. Fr. Datev Mikayelian and Archpriest Rev. Fr. Zareh Zargarian, Toronto Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church.
The Ranks sang the funeral service of Deacons. Present also was representation from St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church Board of Trustees, Committees, Councils and the more excellent family. Following the Church service, on behalf of the family, a eulogy read was by Lena Ohannessian, on behalf of St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church and the Ranks of Deacon, Deacon Sarkis Kidanian read a eulogy. Following the tributes, Prelate Tcharian delivered his sermon. In his message, Archbishop Tcharian took into reflection the humble and dedicated service that Archdeacon Shehirian committed to.
He first started serving in the Armenian Prelacy of Syria (Բերիոյ Հայոց Թեմի Առաջնորդութիւն). He then joined the Armenian Theological Seminary in Lebanon. In 1950, he moved to Canada, where he served the rest of his life serving various Armenian Apostolic Churches in Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catherines, and Niagara Falls, NY, under the Armenian Prelacy of the Eastern United States. In recognition of his long service, Archdeacon Shehirian was the recipient of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada’s “Mantagouni Award” and the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia “Mesrob Mashdots” Insignia. For many years, the late Archdeacon had requested to be buried with his diaconal vestment, which he loved so dearly. The deacons had fulfilled this request by leaving his diaconal vestment in the coffin, which he wore with pride for over eighty years.
