Շաբաթ 2 Օգոստոս 2025-ին, Հայաստանեայց Առաքելական Ս. Եկեղեցին կը նշէ իր առաջին լուսաւորիչին՝ Ս. Թադէոս Առաքեալին եւ Հայ Եկեղեցւոյ անդրանիկ նահատակներէն՝ Սրբուհի Սանդուխտի տօնը։
Սանդուխտ իշխանուհին քրիստոնէութեան լոյսին հասաւ Թադէոս առաքեալի շնորհիւ, եւ իր կարգին, շատ ուրիշներ դարձի բերաւ։ Անոր հայրը՝ Սանատրուկ թագաւորը, նախ փորձեց զինք հրաժարեցնել նոր կրօնքէն եւ ի վերջոյ, թագի եւ սուրի ընտրանքին առջեւ դրաւ իր դուստրը։ Սանդուխտ ընտրեց սուրը եւ դարձաւ Հայաստանեայց Առաքելական Եկեղեցւոյ առաջին նահատակ սրբուհին։ Անոր նահատակութենէն ետք, Թադէոս առաքեալ եւս նահատակուեցաւ Արտազի մէջ (այսօր՝ հիւսիսային Իրան)։
Ս. Թադէի վանքը շինուած է սուրբի գերեզմանին վրայ։ Անցեալ դարու սկիզբին, վանքը ճամբորդներու եւ ուխտագնացներու կարեւոր հանդիպման վայր մըն էր։ Այս տօնին առիթով, տարեկան ուխտագնացութիւն տեղի կ՚ունենայ Ատրպատականի մէջ։
Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Armenian Church will celebrate its first illuminator, St. Thaddeus, and the Armenian Church’s first Martyr, Holy Sandukhti Feast. Princess Sandukhti brought the light and message to Christianity in favour of the apostle Thaddus. St. Thaddus baptized Princess Sandukhi, the daughter of King Sanatruk. He believed in Christ and, for this reason, was martyred for his name’s sake. The apostle spread the Gospel and continued to preach and maintain the faith in Armenia. With their sacrifice and blood, they became the first martyrs of Christianity in Armenia. Their names are written in gold letters in the sacred pages of the Armenian Church and Nation, and their grave is found in today’s country, known as Iran.
St. Thaddus Monastery is built on Princess Sandukhti’s grave. In the past century, the monastery was an important place for trips and pilgrimages. For this feast, a traditional pilgrimage will take place in Tabriz city.
