«ՀԱՐԿ Է ՄԵՐ ԿԵԱՆՔԸ ԱՐԺԷՔՆԵՐՈՎ ԻՄԱՍՏԱՒՈՐԵԼ»
ԱՐԱՄ Ա. ԿԱԹՈՂԻԿՈՍ
Կիրակի, 19 Հոկտեմբեր 2025-ի առաւօտուն, Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Արամ Ա. Վեհափառ Հայրապետը ուղղուեցաւ Թորոնթոյի Սուրբ Աստուածածին եկեղեցի, ուր մեծ թիւով հաւատացեալներ կը սպասէին իրենց հոգեւոր պետին ժամանումը: «Հրաշափառ»ի արարողութենէն ետք, մատուցուեցաւ Սուրբ եւ Անմահ Պատարագ՝ ձեռամբ հիւսիսային Ամերիկայի Արեւելեան Հայոց Թեմի առաջնորդ Գերաշնորհ Տ. Անուշաւան Արք. Դանիէլեանի: Բարի գալուստի խօսք ուղղեց Գանատայի Հայոց Թեմի առաջնորդ Գերաշնորհ Տ. Բաբգէն Արք. Չարեան, նախ յայտնելով իր որդիական երախտագիտութիւնն ու հոգեկան խանդավառութիւնը Նորին Սրբութեան Գանատայի թեմին շնորհած այցելութեան առիթով: Ապա, սրբազան հայրը ըսաւ. «Նորին Սրբութեան այցելութիւնը Գանատա ուրախութիւն է մեզի համար, մինչ իր գահակալութեան 30-ամեակի նշումը՝ հպարտութիւն եւ տօն: Մենք, որպէս մեծ ու մէկ ընտանիք, հաւատքի վերանորոգումի բացառիկ առիթի մը դիմաց կը գտնուինք: Այսօր այստեղ եկած ենք լսելու Հայրապետին ուղենիշ պատգամը, ինչ որ նոր ուղղութիւն ու նոր հորիզոն պիտի բանայ մեզի՝ հոգեւորականներուս ծառայական եւ բոլորիս համայնքային կեանքին մէջ»:
Նորին Սրբութիւնը իր հայրապետական պատգամին սկիզբը ողջունեց առաջնորդ սրբազան հայրը, գաղութին մէջ ծառայող հոգեւոր դասը, ազգային վարչութիւնն ու յարակից մարմինները, որոնք զանազան պատասխանատուութիւններով իրենց գործօն մասնակցութիւնը կը բերեն մեր եկեղեցւոյ պայծառութեան ու համայնքի կենսունակութեան եւ զարգացման նպաստող աշխատանքներուն: Վեհափառ Հայրապետը յատուկ կերպով ողջունեց մեր ազգի սիրելի զաւակները՝ յիշեցնելով, թէ եկեղեցին հաւատքի համայնք է եւ մենք բոլորս այդ համայնքի անդամներն ենք. հետեւաբար, անհրաժեշտ է մասնակից դառնալ հաւատքի համայնքի կեանքին ու առաքելութեան:
Շարունակելով իր խօսքը՝ Վեհափառ Հայրապետը ըսաւ. «ինծի համար յատուկ հոգեկան ուրախութիւն է ըլլալ դարձեալ Թորոնթոյի մեր ժողովուրդի սիրելի զաւակներուն հետ՝ Աստուծոյ տան մէջ: Եկեղեցին Աստուծոյ տունն է, եւ Աստուած մեզ կը հրաւիրէ այս տան հարազատ զաւակները ըլլալու, այս տան արժէքներով մեր կեանքը իմաստաւորելու, մեր կեանքի ճամբան լուսաւորելու, մեր կեանքը երկնային ճշմարտութիւններով ու արժէքներով իմաստաւորելու: Ա՛յս է պատգամը Աստուծոյ այս տան. ա՛յս է պայմանը այս տան հաւատարիմ անդամը ըլլալու:
Հետեւաբար, որպէս հայրապետական պատգամ, այսօր կը յիշեցնեմ մեր ժողովուրդի զաւակներուն, թէ հրամայական է, որպէս քրիստոնեայ հայեր, մեր կեանքը արժէքներով լեցնելու, որովհետեւ արժէքներով է որ մեր կեանքը կ’իմաստաւորուի ու իմաստ կը ստանայ: Առանց այդ արժէքներու առկայութեան ու մանաւանդ անոնց նկատմամբ մեր ունեցած հաւատարմութեան, մեր կեանքը կը դառնայ անիմաստ ու դատարկ: Արդ, հարց կու տանք՝ որո՞նք են այդ արժէքները, որո՞նք պէտք է կազմեն մեր կեանքի առանցքն ու նպատակը.
ա) Մեզի համար առաջնահերթ ու գերագոյն արժէք է մեր եկեղեցին: Սովորական վայր չէ եկեղեցին. ինչպէս ըսինք, ան Աստուծոյ տունն է, եւ Աստուած կը հրաւիրէ մեզ այս տան հարազատ բնակիչը ըլլալու. այս տան հովանաւորութեան տակ ապրելու, այս տունով պաշտպանուելու՝ կեանքի բոլոր չարերուն ու չարիքներուն դիմաց: Հետեւաբար, Աստուծոյ տունը պէտք է պահել պայծառ՝ իր երկնային առաքելութեամբ։
բ) Մեզի համար կենսական արժէք է եկեղեցւոյ կողքին գործող հայ դպրոցը: Ըսինք ու կը շեշտենք` եկեղեցւոյ կողքին: Եկեղեցի-դպրոց գոյակցութիւնը բնական երեւոյթ մըն է մեր կեանքին մէջ. անոնք զիրար կ’ամբողջացնեն: Հետեւաբար, հայ դպրոցը պէտք է պահել ամուր՝ իր հայակերտումի առաքելութեամբ:
գ) Մեզի համար գերագոյն արժէք է նաեւ մեր Հայրենիքը: Ճի՛շդ է, այս երկիրի քաղաքացին ենք: Կը վայելենք Գանատային մեզի ընծայած առաւելութիւնները, սակայն մեր արեան կանչով, մեր ազգային պատկանելիութեամբ, մեր մնայուն ու յաւիտենական Հայրենիքը Հայաստանն է: Հայաստանը իւրաքանչիւր հայու համար սրբազան արժէք է՝ մեր սուրբերուն ու նահատակներուն աղօթքով ու արիւնով թրծուած: Հետեւաբար, Հայաստանը պէտք է պահել ամուր՝ իր ներքին կեանքով ու արտաքին յարաբերութեամբ:
Ահաւասիկ երեք սրբազան արժէքներ, որոնք պէտք է մնայուն ներկայութիւն ըլլան մեր մտածումներուն ու գործերուն մէջ՝ դառնալով մեր անհատական թէ հաւաքական կեանքի ամուր հիմքերը»:
Սուրբ Պատարագի աւարտին, եկեղեցւոյ մէջ տեղի ունեցաւ աջահամբոյր, իսկ ժողովրդային հիւրասիրութիւն՝ սրահին մէջ:

“We Must Imbue Our Lives with Meaning Through Values”
His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia
On the morning of Sunday, October 19, 2025, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I visited the St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church of Toronto, where many faithful had gathered to welcome their spiritual father. Following the “Hrashapar” (Wondrous God) ceremony, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate of the Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America.
The welcoming remarks were delivered by His Grace Archbishop Papken Tcharian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada. Expressing his filial gratitude and heartfelt joy for the visit of His Holiness, Archbishop Tcharian stated:
“The visit of His Holiness to Canada brings us great joy, and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of his election and consecration as Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia fills us with pride. As one united family, we are given a unique opportunity to renew our faith. We have gathered here to hear the guiding message of our spiritual father — a message that will inspire and direct both our clergy and our community toward new horizons of dedicated service.”
At the beginning of his patriarchal address, His Holiness warmly greeted the Prelates, the clergy serving the Community, the members of the National Representative Assembly, and the various parish organizations whose dedicated participation contributes to the vitality, growth, and radiance of the Armenian Church.
He extended special greetings to the beloved sons and daughters of the Armenian nation, reminding them that the Church is a community of faith, and we are all members of that community. Therefore, he emphasized, each of us must take an active part in the life and mission of this faith community.
Continuing his message, His Holiness said:
“It brings me deep spiritual joy to be once again among our beloved people of Toronto, in the house of God. The Church is the house of God, and God calls us to be its faithful children — to give meaning to our lives through the values of this house, to illuminate our path with divine truths, and to live a life enriched by heavenly virtues.
This is the message of the house of God — this is what it means to be a true member of His household.”
As a patriarchal exhortation, His Holiness reminded the faithful that:
“It is imperative, as Christian Armenians, that we fill our lives with values, for it is through values that life gains its meaning and purpose. Without these values — and without faithfulness to them — life becomes empty and meaningless.
So, we must ask: What are these values? What should form the foundation and purpose of our lives?”
He then identified three sacred and essential values:
- The Church – “Foremost among our values is the Church. It is not merely a building; it is the house of God. Within it, God invites us to dwell as His children, to live under His protection, and to be safeguarded against all evils of life. Therefore, the house of God must be preserved in all its splendor, fulfilling its heavenly mission.”
- The Armenian School – “Alongside the Church stands the Armenian school, which is vital to our existence. The coexistence of Church and school is natural and necessary in our communal life — they complement one another. Thus, the Armenian school must be kept strong in its mission of Armenian education and identity formation.”
- The Homeland – “Above all, our supreme value is our Homeland. True, we are citizens of this country and enjoy the many blessings Canada offers us. Yet, by the call of our blood and our national identity, our eternal homeland is Armenia — sanctified by the prayers and sacrifices of our saints and martyrs. Therefore, Armenia must be preserved strong and steadfast — in both its internal life and its external relations.”
“These three sacred values,” His Holiness concluded, “must remain ever present in our minds and actions, forming the firm foundation of both our individual and collective life.”
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the faithful had the opportunity to receive the patriarchal blessing and kiss His Holiness’s right hand. The day concluded with a communal reception held in the church hall.
