Elected Officials Join Armenian Cultural Festival

The Armenian Cultural Festival this past weekend was marked not only by vibrant community celebration but also by the strong presence of elected representatives who came to show their support.

On Friday evening, officials attended service at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church, joining parishioners in prayer. On Saturday, they gathered with His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian, Prelate of the Armenian Church of Canada Armenian Prelacy of Canada, before greeting festival crowds. Several offered words of support, commending the Armenian community for its contributions to the cultural and civic life of Toronto and Ontario.

Among those present were MPs Jean Yip, Vincent Ho, and Costas Megenakis, Ontario’s Minister of Community, Children, and Social Services the Honourable Michael Parsa, MPPs Aris Babikian, David Smith, Jonathan Tsao and Rob Cerjanec as well as Toronto City Councillors Shelley Carroll, Nick Mantas, Brad Bradford and Michael Thompson who together emphasized the importance of cultural festivals in strengthening community ties.
