ՄԵԾԻ ՏԱՆՆ ԿԻԼԻԿԻՈՅ ԿԱԹՈՂԻԿՈՍՈՒԹԻՒՆԸ ՄԱՍՆԱԿՑԵՑԱՒ ԵԿԵՂԵՑԻՆԵՐՈՒ ՀԱՄԱՇԽԱՐՀԱՅԻՆ ԽՈՐՀՈՒՐԴԻ ԿԵԴՐՈՆԱԿԱՆ ՎԱՐՉՈՒԹԵԱՆ ԺՈՂՈՎԻՆ

Եկեղեցիներու Համաշխարհային Խորհուրդի (Ե.Հ.Խ.) 11-րդ համաժողովէն ընտրուած կեդրոնական վարչութիւնը իր երկրորդ լիակատար նիստերը գումարեց 18-24 Յունիս 2025-ին, Ճոհանեսպուրկի (Հարաւային Ափրիկէ) մէջ: Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Արամ Ա. Վեհափառ Հայրապետին օրհնութեամբ եւ յանուն Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիոյ Կաթողիկոսութեան, Ժողովին մասնակցեցաւ կեդրոնական վարչութեան անդամ եւ Պոսթոնի Սուրբ Ստեփանոս եկեղեցւոյ հոգեւոր հովիւ Գերապատիւ Տ. Հրանդ Ծ. Վրդ. Թահանեան:

Հայր սուրբը նիստերուն իր մասնակցութիւնը բերաւ զանազան մակարդակներու վրայ, ինչպէս Քաղաքականութեան Վերագրութիւն (Policy Reference Committee) յանձնախումբ եւ Միջ-Եկեղեցական Ուսում ու Կազմաւորում յանձնաժողով (համա-ատենապետութիւն) (co-moderator on Commission on Education and Ecumenical Formation Commission):

The Catholicosate of Cilicia participates in the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches

The Central Committee of the World Council of Churches (WCC), convened in Johannesburg, South Africa, in the month of June. This is the second in-person Central Committee meeting following the 11th General Assembly, which had taken place in 2022, in Karlsruhe, Germany.

In South Africa, the plenary initiated a midterm review of strategies and governance. It also initiated preparations for the next assembly in 2030. The central committee also continued the crucial work of the Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity, particularly with South African churches.

His Holiness Aram I is one of the current Presidents of the WCC, representing the family of Oriental Orthodox Churches. It is noteworthy that a guest of honor to the meeting was the Rev. Dr. Sam Kobia, former General Secretary, who served on the WCC alongside His Holiness, while he was the Moderator.

V. Rev. Fr. Hrant Tahanian, pastor of St. Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church of Greater Boston, participated on behalf of the Holy See of Cilicia. In Johannesburg, Fr. Hrant served on the leadership of the Policy Reference Committee. He continues to serve on the Ecumenical Education and Formation Commission and the Reference Group on Racism, as co-moderator.
