Կիրակի, 18 Յունուար 2026-ին, երեկոյեան ժամը 5։00-ին, հովանաւորութեամբ եւ նախագահութեան Գանատայի Հայոց Թեմի բարեջան առաջնորդ՝ Գերշ. Տ. Բաբգէն Ս. Արք. Չարեանի, եւ կազմակերպութեամբ Սուրբ Աստուածածին եկեղեցւոյ, արժանավայել կերպով նշուեցաւ Սուրբ Աստուածածին եկեղեցւոյ վաստակաշատ հոգեւոր սպասաւորին եւ Գանատայի Հայոց Թեմի նախկին առաջնորդ՝ հոգելոյս Տ. Մեղրիկ Ս. Եպս. Բարիքեանի վախճանման հինգերորդ տարելիցը՝ «Հովիւ Քաջ, Հովիւ Բարի» խորագիրը կրող յուշ երեկոյի մը ճամբով, Crystal Fountain հանդիսասրահէն ներս։
Սկիզբը տեղի ունեցաւ հիւրասիրութիւն, ուր սաքսոֆոնի կատարումով հանդէս եկաւ Արմէն Պետրոսեան։ Ժամը 6:00-ին սկսաւ հանդիսութեան պաշտօնական մասը, հանդիսավարներուն՝ Բրշ. Յարութ Սրկ. Կիւլոյեանի եւ Տիար Գրիգոր Աստուրեանի բացման խօսքերով, որոնց մէջ վեր առնուեցաւ Հոգելոյս Սրբազանին հոգեւոր, մարդկային եւ առաջնորդական վսեմ յատկանիշերը։ Ապա բեմ հրաւիրուեցաւ կազմակերպող յանձնախումբին ներկայացուցիչ՝ Բրշ. Սարգիս Սրկ. Կիտանեան, որ իր խօսքին մէջ երախտագիտութիւն յայտնեց ձեռնարկի իրականացման համար իրենց նիւթական ու բարոյական օժանդակութիւնը ցուցաբերած բարերարներուն, ներկաներուն ջերմ մասնակցութեան ու քաջալերանքին, եւ յատկապէս անդրադարձաւ «Մեղրիկ Բարիքեան» հիմնադրամին առաքելութեան ու ապագայ նպատակադրումներուն։
Եկեղեցւոյ Հովիւ՝ Արժ. Տ. Տաթեւ Աւ. Քհնյ. Միքայէլեանի սեղանի օրհնութենէն ետք, ձեռնարկը շարունակուեցաւ երաժշտական ու բանաստեղծական ելոյթներով, զանազան անհատներու կողմէ, որոնց կեանքին մէջ Հոգելոյս սրբազանը բաժին ունեցած է։ Այսպէս, հանդէս եկան «Զարեհ Ազնաւորեան» եւ «Մեղրիկ Բարիքեան» զոյգ դպրաց դասերը, ինչպէս նաեւ քանոնի կատարում՝ Տիկ. Մատիանա Թորոսեանի կողմէ։ Հեռակայ դրութեամբ, իր սրտի խօսքը փոխանցեց եւ երգի մը ներկայացումը կատարեց այժմ Փարիզ ապրող, Բրշ. Վարդան Սրկ. Գաբրիէլեան։ Բանաստեղծական ասմունքներով հանդէս եկան Տիկ. Սարին Փօլատեան եւ Օրդ. Իզապէլ Յակոբեան։
Ձեռնարկի ընթացքին խօսք առին նաեւ Սուրբ Աստուածածին եկեղեցւոյ հոգաբարձութեան ատենապետ՝ Բրշ. Կարօ Սրկ. Սարգիսեան, եւ եկեղեցւոյ Հոգեւոր Տեսուչ՝ Գերպ. Տ. Գարեգին Ծ. Վրդ. Շխրտմեան։
Հանդիսութեան ընթացքին ցուցադրուեցաւ տեսերիզ մը, որ ամփոփ կերպով ներկայացուց Հոգելոյս Սրբազան Հօր կեանքն ու բազմաբովանդակ ծառայութիւնը։ Տեսերիզին մէջ տարբեր անհատներ, ինչպէս նաեւ քաղաքական ու հասարակական օտար գործիչներ, իրենց վկայութիւններն ու մտածումները կիսեցին Հոգելոյս Սրբազանին անձին եւ վաստակին մասին։
Ապա բեմ հրաւիրուեցան օրուան նուիրատուները՝ մոմավառութեամբ պատուելու Հոգելոյս Տ. Մեղրիկ Ս. Եպս. Բարիքեանի լուսաւոր յիշատակը։ Նշենք որ ձեռնարկին գլխաւոր հովանաւորութիւնը ստաձնեց՝ ազնուափայլ Օրդ. Ժիւլիէթ Սարգիսեանը։ Անոր յաջորդեց «Բարիքեան» կրթաթոշակի փոխանցումը Արմէն Պետրոսեանին՝ Գանատայի Հայոց Թեմի առաջնորդ Գերշ. Տ. Բաբգէն Ս. Արք. Չարեանի ձեռամբ, որմէ ետք Սրբազան Հայրը իր սրտի խօսքը արտասանեց՝ վեր առնելով հոգելոյս Սրբազանին նուիրեալ ծառայութիւնը եւ խորապէս գնահատելով անոր յիշատակը վառ պահելու նուիրուած այս նախաձեռնութիւնը։
Ձեռնարկը փակուեցաւ Սուրբ Աստուածածին եկեղեցւոյ Սարկաւագաց դասին «Ամէն Հայր Սուրբ» շարականի հզօր եւ յուզիչ երգեցողութեամբ՝ Հոգելոյս Մեղրիկ Սրբազանին հեղինակած երաժշտութեամբ։ Երգեցողութիւնը եզրափակուեցաւ նոյնինքն Սրբազան հօր արձանագրած ձայնով՝ սարկաւագներուն աղօթքին ի պատասխան հնչեցուած «Ամէն» բառով, որ առաւել յուզիչ շունչ տուաւ երգեցողութեան։
«Պահպանիչ» աղօթքով Սրբազան Հայրը փակեց յուզումնախառն եւ հոգեպարար երեկոն։
Նշենք, որ ձեռնարկին ընթացքին ցուցադրուած էր Հոգելոյս Սրբազանին կեանքի ժամանակահատուածը ներկայացնող պատկերներ, եւ կազմակերպուած էր լուռ աճուրդի անկիւն մը։
Ձեռնարկը իրենց ներկայութեամբ պատուեցին տարբեր շրջաններէ ժամանած հայ հոգեւորականներ, Թորոնթոյի Հայ Կաթողիկէ եւ Հայ Աւետարանական եկեղեցիներու հոգեւոր սպասաւորները, Օնթարիոյ նահանգի հայազգի երեսփոխան՝ Տիար Արիս Պապիկեանը, ինչպէս նաեւ Հայ Կեդրոնի հարկին մէջ գործող բոլոր մարմիններու ներկայացուցիչները։

HONOURING THE LATE BISHOP MEGHRIG BARIKIAN
ON THE FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS PASSING
On Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., under the auspices and presidency of His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada and organized by St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church, the fifth anniversary of the passing of the beloved and long-serving Parish Priest of St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church and second Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada, the late in blessed memory Bishop Meghrig Parikian, was commemorated in a fitting and dignified manner through a memorial evening titled “Brave Shepherd, Good Shepherd,” held at the Crystal Fountain Banquet Hall.
The evening began with a reception, during which Armen Bedrossian performed on the saxophone. At 6:00 p.m., the official program commenced with opening remarks by the Masters of Ceremony, Deacon Harout Guloian and Mr. Krikor Astourian, in which they highlighted the late Bishop’s outstanding spiritual, human, and leadership qualities.
Then, the representative of the organizing committee, Deacon Sarkis Kidanian, was invited to the stage. In his remarks, he expressed gratitude to the benefactors who provided both financial and moral support to make the event possible, thanked those present for their warm participation and encouragement, and spoke especially about the mission and future goals of the “Meghrig Parikian” Fund.
Following the table blessing by the Parish Priest, Archpriest Rev. Fr. Datev Mikayelian, the evening continued with musical and poetic presentations by various individuals whose lives had been touched by the late Bishop. Performances included presentations by the “Zareh Aznavourian” and “Meghrig Parikian” choirs, as well as a kanun performance by Mrs. Madiana Torosyan.
Currently living in Paris, Deacon Vartan Kaprielian shared his heartfelt words and performed a song virtually. Also. Poetry recitations were delivered by Mrs. Sarin Poladian and Ms. Isabel Hagopian.
During the event, remarks were also offered by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Mary Church, Deacon Garo Sarkisian, and the church’s Spiritual Dean, Right Rev. Fr. Karekin Shkherdemian.
A video presentation was shown during the program, offering a brief overview of the late Bishop’s life and his wide-ranging service. In the video, various individuals — as well as political and public figures — shared their testimonies and reflections on the late Bishop’s character and contributions.
Afterward, the day’s donors were invited to the stage to honour the bright memory of the late Bishop Meghrig Parikian through a candle-lighting ceremony. It should be noted that the main sponsorship of the event was undertaken by Miss. Juliette Sarkissian.
This was followed by the presentation of the Meghrig Parikian Musical Grant to Armen Bedrossian, presented by the Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada, His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian. Following this, His Grace delivered heartfelt remarks, emphasizing the late Bishop’s devoted service and expressing deep appreciation for this initiative organized to keep his memory alive.
The memorial evening concluded with the powerful and moving performance of the hymn “Amen Hayr Soorp” by the Deacons’ Choir of St. Mary Church, with music composed by the late Bishop Meghrig. The hymn concluded with the late Bishop’s own recorded voice, responding to the deacons’ prayer with the word “Amen,” adding an even more emotional and touching spirit to the performance.
His Eminence concluded the emotional and uplifting evening with the final benediction. It should be noted that a timeline of the Bishop’s life was created and displayed during the event, and a silent auction corner was also organized.
The event was honoured by the presence of Armenian clergy who had arrived from various regions, including spiritual leaders of Toronto’s Armenian Catholic and Armenian Evangelical churches, Ontario Scarborough-Agincourt MPP Mr. Aris Babikian, as well as representatives of all organizations operating under the Armenian Centre.
