On April 24, 2024, the Armenian Inter-Denominational Committee of Toronto hosted an event to commemorate the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The event took place inside the Hamazkayin Theatre at the Armenian Youth Center. Present were Arch. Fr. Zareh Zargarian, vicar and parish priest of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, Arch. Fr. Hayari Tanashian, Assistant Pastor of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, Very. Rev. Fr. Vartan Tashjian, Parish Priest of St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church ,Very Rev. Fr. Elias Kirejian, Parish Priest of of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Catholic Church, as well as Deacon Daron Halajian and Sub-deacon Haig Chahinian.

The film Aurora's Sunrise was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Bars Media, located in Armenian, and The Zoryan Institute (Toronto). It is the story of Genocide Survivor, Arshaluys (Aurora) Mardiganian.

Concluding the film, a concluding prayer was offered by the commemorative statue in front of St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church, where flowers were laid in memory of the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide. ... See MoreSee Less

Չորեքշաբթի Ապրիլ 24-ի երեկոյեան, տեղի ունեցաւ բարեխօսական աղօթք եւ ֆիլմի ցուցադրութիւն Հայոց Ցեղասպանութեան 109-րդ ամեակին առիթով։ Ձեռնարկը տեղի ունեցաւ Երիտասարդական Կեդրոնի Համազգային Թատերասրահէն ներս։ Գաղութիս միջ-յարանուանական մարմնին կողմէ կատարուեցաւ բացման աղօթքը։ Ներկայ էին Եկեղեցւոյս հոգեւոր Հովիւ՝ Գերպ. Տ. Վարդան Ծ. Վրդ. Թաշճեան, Ս. Երրորդութիւն Հայց. Առաքելական Եկեղեցւոյ Հոգեւոր Հովիւ եւ Գանատահայոց Թեմի Փոխառաջնորդ՝ Արժ. Տ. Զարեհ Աւ. Քհյ. Զարկարեան եւ Հովիւի Օգնական՝ Արժ. Տ. Հայարի Քհյ. Հաւաքական ճիգերու շնորհիւ է որ Aurora's Sunrise ֆիլմը կարելի եղած է հանրութեան հրամցնել։ Հայաստան գտնուող՝ «Պարզ Միտիայի» եւ Թորոնթոյի «Զորեան Հիմնարկ»ի միասնական ճիգերու արդիւնքն է այս աշխատանքը։ Ֆիլմը մեծապէս տպաւորեց ու յուզեց ներկաները։ Ան վաւերական եւ պատմագրական տուեալներով լեցուն՝ լաւագոյնս կը ներկայացնէ մեր ժողովուրդին պատմութեան ամէնէն մութ էջերէն մին։

Ֆիլմի ցուցադրութեան աւարտին, Եկեղեցւոյս շրջափակի յուշարձանի մօտ տեղի ունեցաւ հանդիսութեան փակման աղօթքը եւ ծաղիկներու զետեղում։
